SAF-T — the Standard Audit File for Tax that Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NRA) has made mandatory — is already in force, and the circle of companies it covers grows every year. The platform prepares and files it on top of the software your company already uses: for Soft1 the integration is ready, and for any other ERP or accounting system we build it as a service.
What SAF-T is and who files it
SAF-T (Standard Audit File for Tax) is a standard XML file through which the NRA sees a company's books: general ledger and entries, issued and received invoices, customers and suppliers, payments, inventory and fixed assets. The obligation comes into force in stages:
- large enterprises have been filing since 1 January 2026;
- medium and small enterprises join on 1 January 2027;
- by 2030 practically every enterprise is in scope.
The file is filed monthly, by the 14th for the previous month; the fixed-asset data is filed once a year. A missed deadline is a violation — the fines start in the thousands of leva and grow on repetition.
On top of the software you already use
Nobody changes their accounting system because of one report — and nobody has to. The platform connects to the system the company already runs and takes care of the file's whole journey:
- pulls the data automatically, with no retyping and no Excel;
- assembles it against the current NRA XML schema and nomenclatures;
- validates the file against the validation rules before it is filed;
- files on time and keeps a record of what was sent and when.
For Soft1 the integration is ready
Companies on Soft1 do not wait for development: the connection is already there and working. Data leaves Soft1, is assembled into the SAF-T file and reaches the NRA without manual work — the first filing is a matter of setup, not a project.
For any other system — as a service
A different ERP or accounting program? The same thing is built for it, in the same way — that is a service we offer, not a demand that you change your software. The timeline depends on the system, which is why the conversation is best started before the last moment.
What to do
If your company falls into the January 2027 wave, the deadline looks far away, but preparation does not happen the night before: you need a connection to the accounting system, agreed nomenclatures and at least one trial filing. Write to us at contact@aicloud.bg or through the enquiry form — we will tell you what stands between you and your first file.
SAF-T does not demand a new accounting system. It demands that someone connects the one you already have to the NRA — and that is exactly our job.
