As of this week the platform prepares and files SAF-T — the Standard Audit File for Tax that Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NRA) has made mandatory for Bulgarian companies. The SoftOne ERP connection is ready: data leaves the accounting system, is assembled into XML against the NRA schema and is submitted without manual work and without Excel.
What SAF-T is and who files it
SAF-T (Standard Audit File for Tax) is a standard XML file through which the NRA sees a company's books: general ledger and entries, issued and received invoices, customers and suppliers, payments, inventory and fixed assets. The obligation comes into force in stages:
- large enterprises have been filing since 1 January 2026;
- medium and small enterprises join on 1 January 2027;
- by 2030 practically every enterprise is in scope.
The file is filed monthly, by the 14th for the previous month; the fixed-asset data is filed once a year. A missed deadline is a violation — the fines start in the thousands of leva and grow on repetition.
What the platform does
- pulls the data from SoftOne ERP automatically, with no retyping;
- builds the file against the current NRA XML schema and nomenclatures;
- validates it against the validation rules before it is filed;
- files on time and keeps a record of what was sent and when.
Why SoftOne ERP first
SoftOne is among the most widely used accounting systems in Bulgaria, so it is the first one the connection is ready for. Its users do not wait for custom development — the integration is already there and working. A company on a different system gets the same thing the same way: the integration is built around its software, not the other way round.
What to do
If your company falls into the January 2027 wave, the deadline looks far away, but preparation does not happen the night before: you need a connection to the accounting system, agreed nomenclatures and at least one trial filing. Write to us at contact@aicloud.bg or through the enquiry form — we will tell you what stands between you and your first file.
SAF-T is not yet another report. It is the moment a company's books become machine-readable — and it is better for that to happen by your choice than by a deadline.
